welches von Kurtis Kraft entworfen und gefertigt wurde
Frank Kurtis gründete 1938 in Los Angeles die Firma Kurtis Kraft Inc
ein US-Autombilhersteller aber auch Rennteam
welches vor allem durch die Erfolge bei den Indy 500 Rennen bekannt wurde
Frank Kurtis stellte für dieses Projekt Rahmenschienen und halbfertige Aluminum Karosserieteile zur Verfügung
die letztlich durch AJ Bowen an den durch Pat Clany konstruierten und gefertigten Rahmen angepasst wurden. Zum Antrieb wurden ein 270 CID Offenhauser Motor sowie ein Meyer Drake 3-Gang Getriebe verwendet. Offenhauser-Motoren bzw. "Offys" waren die erfolgreichsten Rennsportmotoren im AAA National Championship Trail
Die Inspiration zur Sechsrädrigkeit holte sich Clany vermutlich vom Auto Union C-Typ
welches an der Hinterachse zwillingbereift war. ClancyŽs 6-Rad Prinzip war dauerhaft eine eher unglückliche Lösung. Um 1950 wurde daher dieses System aufgegeben

This vehicle is a one-off
which was designed and manufactured by Kurtis Kraft
Frank Kurtis founded the company Kurtis Kraft Inc. in Los Angeles in 1938
a US automobile manufacturer but also a racing team
which became known primarily for its success in the Indy 500 races
Frank Kurtis provided frame rails and semi-finished aluminum body parts for this project
which were ultimately adapted by AJ Bowen to the frame designed and manufactured by Pat Clany. A 270 CID Offenhauser engine and a Meyer Drake 3-speed gearbox were used for the drive. Offenhauser engines or "Offys" were the most successful motors in the AAA National Championship Trail
Clany probably got the inspiration for the six-wheel drive from the Auto Union C-type
which had twin tires on the rear axle. Clancy's 6-wheel principle was a rather unfortunate solution in the long run. This system was therefore abandoned around 1950
